Proper maintenance will prolong the life of your espresso machine, so you don’t have to worry about replacing it.

There are many things to consider when choosing a new espresso machine, and one of them is how to maintain it.

Most of the machines these days are pretty easy to clean and maintain. One of the things to consider is how easy the machine is to take apart for the purpose of cleaning. Typically, the simpler it is to take apart the easier it is to clean.

Most every espresso machine will have a filter or filter holder with the exception of the pods. The filter is probably first thing you'd think of to clean. You shoud rinse the filter with hot water to remove any traces of coffee.

Clean the remaining machine parts with a brush (toothbrush would do) or a soft cloth. Never use bleach, ammonia or any cleaning agent for cleaning your machine, it may cause damages on your machine.

After the cleaning procedure, run one cycle with just water.

Be especially cautious if the machine has a milk compartment, making sure that is cleaned well very important. A regular cleaning of the machine will ensure that your milk will not be spoiled.
